My philosophy in five points...

A marathon is run one step at a time

Lasting diet and lifestyle change happens by incorporating one small achievable change at a time. The same way it is not generally advisable to run a full marathon before learning how to run, it is not usually suggested that you make a huge overhaul to your diet and lifestyle all in one day. By choosing small achievable goals you create new healthy habits that stay with you long term. Long term healthy habits create long term wellness and isn't that what we all want?

Eat real food

Shop on the edges of the grocery store, mostly from the produce section. By simply sticking to eating foods that look close to how they did in nature, that are fresh and mostly prepared from scratch, you can have ultimate control over your diet. This control puts you in the empowered position of choosing whether or not to enhance your health with every bite. You get to choose.

Listen to your body

Your body has incredible healing power and an awesome ability to keep all of your systems in balance. It will often tell you when something is out of balance or if it is not reacting well to certain foods. Often if we slow down and listen to our bodies they have a lot to say and can help guide us on our journey to wellness.

It is not just what you eat

Although what we eat has a huge impact on our health and wellness there are many other lifestyle factors at play. Our digestive system influences all other body systems. Looking at your whole life situation and how you are responding to it can highlight many areas where we have room to make small positive changes that when totalled sum up to a healthier, happier you.

Enjoy the journey

Eat delicious food that is also good for you. Celebrate the small successes. Focus on gratitude. Be mindful of the one moment you are living right now. By trying to stay present and celebrating the journey to wellness you can live now instead of waiting for whatever you see your endpoint as.
